About Invictus: Invictus is a proud affiliate of the Acton Academy network, which includes over 250 learner-driven schools around the world. We believe that children are capable of far more than we often imagine, and our mission is to foster a growth mindset and help each student discover their unique calling. Our mixed-age classrooms provide a modern twist on the classic one-room schoolhouse, where students learn to mentor and be mentored by one another. As a guide (teacher), you’ll act as a facilitator, empowering students to take ownership of their education.

  • Empowering children to become the primary drivers of their own learning.

  • Providing a Montessori-inspired foundation for personal and academic growth.

  • Embracing an entrepreneurial mindset and an innovative approach to education.

If you’re nodding along, we’d love to explore how you can contribute to our passionate team of Montessorians, entrepreneurs, and educators!

Role Overview: The Guide will spend five days a week in the studio, engaging with students, guiding their learning, and helping to create a nurturing, joyful environment. In addition to studio time, the role involves planning, documenting, and communicating with parents, along with administrative responsibilities.

Qualifications: We’re looking for someone who:

  • Has a lifelong love of learning and curiosity about the world.

  • Thrives in a startup environment and enjoys experimenting and evolving.

  • Has Montessori training (preferred) or a strong interest in Montessori philosophy.

  • Holds a Bachelor’s degree (preferred).

  • Has experience working with children ages 4-7 or 7-12 (preferred).

  • Is eager to learn, be coached, and grow professionally.

  • Demonstrates respect for children and empathy for their challenges.

  • Practices firm but compassionate limit-setting and discipline.

  • Values teamwork, collaboration, and professionalism.

  • Is ready to take a step back as students take on more responsibility in the studio.

Guide Responsibilities:

  • Observe, mentor, and guide students in a project-based learning environment.

  • Develop and implement individualized lesson plans, independent learning exercises, and curricula.

  • Foster a safe, clean, and stimulating classroom where all students feel valued.

  • Build strong, trust-based relationships with students.

  • Set an exemplary standard for students, modeling values like honesty, accountability, respect, and kindness.

  • Monitor student progress and provide written reports.

  • Ensure classroom supplies and equipment are ready and functional.

  • Handle administrative tasks, including updating records on the school database.

  • Participate in school activities and accompany students on field trips.

  • Serve as a Socratic educator, facilitating inquiry-based learning.

Compensation and Benefits: Competitive salary based on experience. PTO Bonus structure tied to performance and enrollment. Professional development and growth opportunities. No insurance benefits offered at this time.
