Position Overview

Cavalli Ridge Academy is seeking a passionate, student-centered educator to serve as our Middle School Core Teacher for a small cohort of girls in grades 6–8. This position operates within a collaborative job-share model, with the Core Teacher leading morning academic instruction and partnering with an afternoon Project-Based Learning (PBL) instructor. Responsibilities include teaching mathematics and integrated humanities, including English Language Arts, science literacy, social studies, and writing. With class sizes intentionally limited to approximately 8–10 students, the teacher will provide highly personalized instruction, daily academic support, and meaningful learning experiences that help students build confidence, independence, and strong academic foundations. The ideal candidate values relationship-based teaching, differentiated instruction, collaboration, and helping every student reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Teach mathematics and integrated humanities to a combined 6th–8th grade classroom.

  • Deliver differentiated instruction that supports diverse learners and multiple grade levels.

  • Provide daily academic support, intervention, and enrichment.

  • Monitor student progress and adjust instruction accordingly.

  • Foster a positive and supportive classroom environment.

  • Collaborate with the Project-Based Learning (PBL) instructor and school team.

  • Communicate effectively with students, families, and colleagues.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required.

  • Current teaching certification from Texas or another U.S. state required.

  • Experience teaching middle school students preferred.

  • Ability to differentiate instruction and support a range of learners and academic abilities.

  • Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills.

  • Ability to build positive relationships with students and families.

  • Experience in teaching PBL is desirable but not required.

  • Enthusiasm for working in a small school setting and contributing to a growing school community.

Lead Montessori Teacher / Director

We’re five Montessori parents launching Imua Montessori, a new Montessori-inspired preschool in South Austin. We loved our children’s Montessori experiences and want to make this approach accessible to more families in our community. We’re starting small (10–15 students initially) with plans to grow thoughtfully and sustainably.

The Opportunity
This is a unique founding opportunity for an experienced Montessori educator. You’ll be our lead teacher AND operational director as we launch. You'll have significant autonomy to shape our school’s culture, curriculum, and daily operations while working with a small, intimate group of students.

What You'll Do
Teaching Responsibilities:

  • Lead a mixed-age Montessori classroom (initially 10–15 children, ages 3–6)

  • Create and maintain a prepared Montessori environment

  • Observe and guide children according to Montessori principles

  • Maintain student records and developmental assessments

  • Communicate regularly with families about their child's progress

Director Responsibilities:

  • Manage day-to-day school operations and oversee school policies and procedures

  • Ensure compliance with Texas childcare licensing requirements

What We're Looking For

Required:

  • Montessori training (AMI/AMS certified or equivalent)

  • Minimum 3 years teaching experience in Montessori or early childhood education

  • Director qualifications for Texas childcare centers (or ability to obtain quickly)

  • Strong communication skills with parents and children

  • Ability to work independently and make sound decisions

Ideal:

  • Experience in startup or entrepreneurial environments

  • Comfortable with building systems and processes from scratch

  • Passionate about Montessori philosophy and making it accessible

  • Flexibility and adaptability as we grow

  • Leadership experience

What We Offer

Compensation:

  • Salary: $65,000–$70,000 annually (commensurate with experience with top of range for highly experienced candidates)

  • Time Off: Paid holidays and scheduled breaks during the school year, aligned with the Austin ISD calendar

  • Summer programming, with a limited paid closure for planning and preparation

  • Paid sick leave provided annually
